LG has lead the wave of Korean industrialization by pioneering major industries including chemical, electric, electronics, and communication since the 1940s. The company has established the Yonam Culture Foundation in 1969 as a part of the efforts to make an advanced industrial society a reality in Korea and is engaging in various public welfare projects including the promotion of science and technologies.
In addition, LG (Lucky Geumseong) established an educational foundation called Yonam Education Foundation in 1973. The company opened Yonam College of Livestock and Horticulture to foster manpower specializing in agricultural technologies essentially required to achieve balanced growth in both the manufacturing and agricultural industry, and thus the school has been churning out numerous agricultural leaders.
The foundation came to a point of founding a technical college as fostering industrial manpower, the driving force of the high tech society, was urgently needed. The Yonam Technical College, founded in 1984, aims to realize specialized education with excellent faculty staff and educational facilities focusing on experiment and practice. We will foster this college to be the cradle of R&D for advanced technologies and competent technical manpower together with LG Research Institute, and do our part in advancing the science and technology of Korea. We ask for your continued support and encouragement.
